Foremay to Deliver Miniature SATA SSD Disk on ModuleForemay, Inc., a leader of technology innovation in solid state drives and one of the world’s Top 10 SSD OEMs, today announced that its OC177 family SATA SSD Disk on Module (DOM) is in production. The SATA DOM is equipped with a standard SATA 3.0 Gb/s interface with backward support of SATA 1.5 Gb/s as well. The flash disk module has a miniature footprint of only 2.5”x 1.7”, but is empowered with a high performance engine – with sustained read/write speeds up to 270 MB/s. It also has high random IOPS for read/write speeds up to 25,000/15,000 with capacity up to 240GB. “In addition to its compact size, one of the major advantages of our OC177 solid state drive family SATA DOM is its caseless design,” said Jack Winters, CTO of Foremay. “This housing-free design allows our SATA DOM to have better heat dissipation from both sides of the PCB, which essentially results in improved reliability when the SATA DOM is equipped in any compact size computing machine and whenever it is running in an overheated environment.” Application examples for OC177 SATA DOM SSD drives include: - Embedded PCs and industrial PCs OC177 Family SATA DOM SSD Availability OC177 flash disk module SSD drives are now shipping in volume in both commercial and industrial grades.
